More Ships, More Port, More Cruises in the Future for Disney Cruise Fans
With the release of Disney Cruise Lines three new ships, set for 2021, 2022 and 2023, the size of ships, port and itinerary increases.
In anticipation, Disney and Port Miami announce a deal in which Port Miami will be expanding. In 2023 it will welcome the first of two Disney Ships sailing year-round.
Starting in 2023 the first ship carrying 3,500 will start leaving for 4 and 5 day trips, and in 2024 3,500 passengers will be able to board a second ship for 3 and 4 day cruises.
DDWM is guessing, one of the newer ships will call Miami home. The second may be one of the older ships, perhaps Dream or Fantasy which have a 4,000 passenger capacity as opposed to Magic and Wonder, which only hold 2,700 passengers.
As of now there still have been not much news regarding the new ships. What is released has been the size 135,000 gross tons and they will have 1,250 staterooms. Similar to Fantasy which has 1,250 staterooms and slightly less tonnage at 130,000, we can assume they will hold 4,000 guest as well.
No names have been announced and rumors and guesses run rampant. I myself believe at least one will be called ILLUMINATION. But your guess is as good as mine.
