Forget Trying to Do Disney on the Cheap…Treat Yourself…5 Ways to Treat Yourself at Disney World…

When Planning a trip to Disney World, everyone tries to do it for the least amount of money. Whether it is staying at a value resort or heaven forbid OFF PROPERTY.  Or scheduling park visits with  a single park per day ticket. Perhaps Eating only at Quick Service. There are numerous other way to do Disney on the Cheap.

There is nothing wrong with trying to save money. However, there is something special about going all out and not holding back when it comes to planning Disney.

For most of us it might take some hard work and discipline to save up for this. Some might have to put off traveling each year or even multiple times a year just to save the extra money.

Once you have that money in the Mickey Mouse Bank it is time to plan. Here are…

5 Ways to Treat Yourself at Disney World

1)UPGRADE HOTEL CATEGORY

No matter what category you are used to staying at, UPGRADE.

This can be a simple as staying at a Moderate instead of Value, or make a big jump to a Deluxe. If you have stayed at a Deluxe, try a Villa or even CLUB LEVEL.

There is something to be said about moving from your standard resort to something that is a step up. Little things can make the difference, sheets with a higher thread count, a softer pillow that conforms to your head, a personal balcony, location or even the Animal Paws that appear when the shower door steams over at the Animal Kingdom Villa Master Bathroom. (Really really cool, trust me) It is the little things.

The one problem you will run into is once you stay at a resort above your usual category you might not want to go back.

2)DON’T HOLD BACK ON MEALS

The selection of food at Disney World is not endless but it would take you more than a dozen trips to eat at each dining location with out repeating a meal.

For many Guest in an attempt to save cash, Quick Service or Counter Service is the mode of dining. Don’t get me wrong, QS/CS have some of my favorite treats, snack and even meals.

But when it comes to rewarding yourself and enjoying the culinary delights that Disney has to offer, you really need to eat at Table Service and Signature restaurants. I am not being snobby, it is just this article is about not holding back and treating yourself at Disney.

One of the best way to do this is to get the Deluxe Dining Plan. I know it may be pricey and you may not use all the points, but with the amount of points allocated for meals and treats, you will never be opening the wallet to pay for a meal (except Tip and Drinks), but you will have tons of snack credits to enjoy an endless amount of snacks from every food stand, bakery, ice cream shop.

By the end of the trip, you will be taking bags of cookies, rice Crispy Treats and Candy home with you. With the large amount of Points you will not feel a burden of are we over doing it, because the meals are paid for. If anything you will feel it as a duty to get the most for your money and reward yourself in the process.

3)ENJOY SOME RECREATION OUTSIDE THE PARKS

Play a round on one of the numerous Golf Course Disney World Resort have to offer. Go Bass fishing in World Showcase Lagoon. Take a Horseback Ride at Wilderness Lodge. Or have a Spa Day.

These are just a few of the ways to treat yourself outside the parks.

Disney offers Golf experiences for all levels of experience. Don’t worry if you don’t have golf clubs, Disney Pro Shop offer rentals. Play on one of the 4 Golf Course like a pro or take lessons from the course PGA instructors.

Jump on a boat at one of the numerous locations that offer Bass Fishing with a Bassmaster. Let your guide take you to all the sweet spots on the numerous lakes and waterways of Disney Property.

Horseback trail riding is offered at Wilderness Resort…..Perfect for beginner and intermediate riders, trail rides are a relaxing way to explore the natural beauty surrounding The Cabins and Campsites of Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort.

Want a day of less active recreation, then one of the numerous Spas on property may be for you. Disney Spas are for adults, kids and teens. A Disney Spa boasts a soothing confection of revitalizing techniques and therapies—facials, massages, body wraps and aromatherapy—designed to elevate the mind and have you looking and feeling your best.

4)TAKE A BACKSTAGE MAGIC TOUR

Have you ever thought about swimming in the LIVING SEAS, or sneaking into the Utilidor under Magic Kingdom. Well next time you visit Disney World, take a gander at the tours offered throughout the resort. If you are a certified diver, you can take a dive in the 5.7 million gallon salt water aquarium at the Seas with Nemo & Friends Pavilion.

What to explore more backstage try Disney’s Key to the Kingdom, a 5 hour tour showing you the nooks and crannies of Magic Kingdom, how it works and tons of history.

These are but 2 of the tours offered, Disney World offers tours in each park and on many topics and experience. Before you start planning, be aware some tours only allow adults as they may take you “BACKSTAGE” into Character Country.

These tours do take up a good chunk of your day, some provide meals, and vary in price from $20 up to $275 dollars, reservations are recquired and booking should be done well in advance of you trip as they sell out fast.

5)DO THE PARK LIKE A CELEBRITY

For those who have been visiting Disney, for at least as long as I have, you remember when sighting the tartan vest of a Guest Relation Member meant one thing, “CELEBRITY SIGHTING”. The private escort of our favorite TV or Movie Star, or recent Athletic Champion is now available to you. At a hefty price, of course. Disney has what they call VIP Tour Services available. These Cast Members are SEAL TEAM 6 of Disney, the BEST OF THE BEST.

You will tell your VIP Tour Guide what you want to do, and they will customize your day to meet all your needs. Starting with transportation in a private vehicle from wherever you are staying in Central Florida.  VIP viewing area for shows and parades, the ability to enjoy your favorite attractions efficiently and possible multiple times.

Disney also offers variations on the VIP Tour, with The Ultimate Day Thrill VIP Tour, The Ultimate Disney Classic VIP Tour, and The Ultimate Night Adventure VIP Tour. These tours are priced per guest and have varying length and feature, while still receiving the CELEBRITY TREATMENT.

The fee for the Standard VIP Tour varies between $425 and $625 per hour, depending on the season at a minimum of 7 hours ($2975 to $4375) in addition to park admission, and the party cannot exceed 10 people
